The boost driver upgrade is available for the quad version SST-20, SFT-25, Nichia 519A R9080, Nichia 219B R9080 versions, each LED receives 2A current. The driver is not compatible with Nichia E21A, Nichia E17A, and mule versions of the flashlight.
Please be noted that the boost driver version will have less output on turbo than the regular version, it is a more efficient driver(90-95%) with longer running time and less heat.
Emisar DW4 puts a high lumen output but generates a lot of heat at the same time, please acknowledge before purchasing. Unprotected, flat top battery works only (not included in the price), DW4 does not work with protected battery.

I use my Emisar DW4 for caving/mine-exploring, so it takes quite a beating (frequent submersion, abrasion, high acidity environments etc.). I do a bit of photography, so the beam shape, colour temperature, and CRI is important to me, and I'm also on a search and rescue team so reliability and runtime is vital.
This headtorch is absolutely flawless for all of these uses. It's small and light enough to wear on a helmet for hours, the boost driver gives it great efficiency and runtime, and the choice of optics and LEDs means I can choose exactly what I want.
10/10, would definitely buy again except I'll never have to because it's so reliable! :D
It's an Emisar D4, which is just an amazing light. However my old Emisar D4 v1 and v2 just don't make it into my pocket because the 90 degree head combined with the magnetic tail cap just increase the usability off the chart. Changing a tyre or changing a nappy, I can usually angle the light beam any what I want - much easier than a standard tube flashlight. At a pinch you can even clip the pocket clip over your t shirt or belt and have a forward facing light.
I have a 519a 4000k and a SST20 neutral white, and kind of prefer the sst20 (which is not what I expected based on tests) - both have plenty of spill but the sst20 just a bit more throw.
Size is slightly bigger, but I think it also handles great slightly better.
It's just the most usable EDC, which is kind of the point of an EDC
This is my 3rd Emisar light, I've owned it for about 7 months now and I can say that I've used it countless times. I was worried about heat as a headlamp since I have a D4S and D4Sv2 and they both get pretty hot, but the upgraded driver actually makes a huge difference in both temperature and runtime at max brightness. Outside of normal work tasks and hiking at night, I've found use while cooking, gardening, and finding lost items. Having this bright of a light as a headlamp makes finding lost things a breeze. Drop a micro screw? BLAM several thousand lumens definitely helps to see under your desk.
Thanks again for an amazing product and I continue to recommend them! I'll be grabbing another while they're on sale!
This thing is truly the most perfect flashlight (for me).
Right angle makes totally sense in all conditions, where it may be used to light up the scene without having to hold it all the time in your hands. Just put it on the table and you can use both hands.
Put it with the magnetic tail cap on your car, activate some flash mode in Anduril, and the site is secured easily.
The maximum output can be used to light up even big open spaces for decent amount of time, very impressive.
I really love it.
Just before I started collecting flashlights, I used to carry a right angle flashlight/headlamp from another brand. The turbo on that other light stopped working, and I found myself wishing for a right angle version of my trusty D4V2. About a day or two after I had that thought, this light was listed for sale and I knew I had to have it.
Right angle, loaded with Anduril, extremely well made, and great for many different use cases.
I got mine with the boost driver, magnetic tailcap, and a headband which makes a fantastic combo for a work light. Finally a worthy successor!
