I ordered the D1K as a first warm white and reflector light with an XHP70.3 R9050 3000K and in MAO finish. It is not as durable as other colors but it still looks good after a month or two of use. Even on the magnet tailcap.
I highly recommend putting pocket clip on with straw method to not scratch the finish and a heat shrink on the part that rubs on the knurling.
The tint is pretty nice. I very much like how much spill this light has, which is very usable, even around the house.
Very low moon light with the Lume X1, not really usable but an interesting thing to look how the 4 separate dies light up in the emitter. I set the floor to 10/150 for usability at night. The max output is great for a light this warm.
I have heard a while ago about Hank flashlights, however I haven't found the combination that I want to. Now I found D1K with my preference LED and driver.
The build quality is great. Yes, you can feel it. The flashlight is very compact even with 21700 battery.
I bought D1K with Lume X1 driver and SFT70 3000K. The color and the throw distance are great. OP reflector smoothen the beam out and give usable spill.
Thank you Hank also for the great communication and the suggestion.
Got it with SBT 90.2. Yes emitter costs more than light, but I like it for versatility. On high it's ridiculously powerful, but steps down quickly. Still nice to have, but don't plan on using it on high for more than a few seconds, it will step down. On lower power it lasts much longer.
I wish Hank would make a single emitter thrower with much larger battery, or 3 18650's.
I ordered the D1K 21700 with SFT-40 6500K emitter and wow the output is phenomenal!! Ramping is smooth from floor to ceiling, turbo puts out a very strong throw for the physical size of this light. Color temp is pleasing and the beam is strong circular pattern with a usable amount of spill. Great combination of light and emitter!! I ordered this on July 1st and paid for the expedited FEDEX shipping and it came FAST (July 5th to USA) and well packaged without any damage. I also opted for the magnetic tail cap and pocket clip. I couldn't be happier with my first purchase from Hank. Thank you!!!!
Grabbed this in XHP70.3 Hi 4000k (high CRI) and am very impressed. I was after an efficient boost-driven light for outdoor hikes and this is an almost perfect fit.
Fit & finish is very good, the optics / glass are clean, and the beam is a great general-purpose mix of flood and throw.
No hint of green from my sample of the XHP70.3, though I do think the 5000k version might have been a better choice - the warm light is nice but can make clean white / grey objects appear a bit off-colour.
The reflector works well with this emitter, and there's no obvious tint shift.
The springs aren't quite long enough for 18650s to work (it's a 21700 light after all), but a small 5mm magnet will fix that.
The only area for improvement would be to increase the maximum drive current - 4A is well below what an XHP70.3 can handle, and it would be nice to have the option of driving it harder on turbo. The light's plenty bright as-is, but it leaves a little bit of output untapped.
Got this in SFN60 6500K and the output is amazing. The beam is satisfyingly round and delivers a lumen output that seems to rival much stronger flashlights. Personally I quite like the color temp too. For such quality and output at this price point, I can highly recommend the D1 or D1K in SFN60 for an excellent wall of light.
