The boost driver upgrade is available for the quad version of XP-L HI, SST-20, Osram W1/W2, Nichia 219B R9080 versions, each LED receives 2A current. The driver is not compatible with Nichia E21A, Nichia E17A, and mule versions of the flashlight.
Please be noted that the boost driver version will have less output on turbo than the regular version, it is a more efficient driver(90-95%) with longer running time and less heat. Emisar D4V2 puts a high lumen output but generates a lot of heat at the same time, please acknowledge before purchasing. Unprotected, flat top battery works only (not included in the price), D4V2 does not work with protected battery. The Mule version is with 8*LEDs, no optic, no aux LEDs, no hotspot, completely flood. For the general users, we recommend to choose regular version (with aux LED, optic etc) instead of the mule version. (send us an email to email@example.com if you need the mule version)
I was first introduced to the idea of carrying around a flashlight 24/7 about a month ago, and I thought the idea was a bit of a stretch.
Then I thought, "hey, here's a little light for $45 that everyone is crazy about, why not?"
All the little things you used to use your phone flashlight for (i.e. lighting up a dark room at night, finding things throughout the day, working on cars or home projects, work inspections, walking the dog, etc.) really pile up! And once you use a real flashlight for these things, I guarantee it will be hard to go back...
I find myself using it constantly. The D4V2 is the perfect size to clip to your pocket and not notice it.
I wish I spent more time looking into emitter options, I like the silvery brightness of the SST20 6500K, but since I do a fair amount of maintenance and inspection, I would like to get a more neutral white emitter with higher CRI.
I bought d4v2 and the fw3a back in 2019 when both were popular. All I could say is d4v2 works flawlessly since day 1, and the fw3a had switch problems along with other small issues. Finally it stopped working yesterday. So here I am buying my second d4v2. Keep up the good work! Thank you
Everything you’ve heard about this light is spot on. It’s the best flashlight I have, hands down. I got mine in 519a dedomed, 4500k, with the boost driver. It puts out an insane amount of light for its size, the color is perfect, and it doesn’t get too hot to use. It’s a great light, definitely going to buy another.
Went with the SST20 4000K. At first it seemed too warm but I got used to it pretty fast. Anduril seems weird but I got the hang of it. Tail cap magnet is strong. Anodization has a rather coarse feel to it, maybe it makes it more grippy. I hope it doesn't get scratched easilly though. I see this light as more of a toy/gadget than a flashlight but I intend to use it nonetheless.
Very small yet very powerful. An intuitive easy to learn operating system. I went with the XPL-HI in Cyan, SS Bezel and Magnetic tail cap w/ raised button. I also ordered an extra floody optic, extra tail cap without magnet. I would advise not ordering anything you are not going to install and use because I can already tell that I won’t be changing anything on the light. Shipping took 12 days. Not bad, considering its coming from the other side of the world. If you are considering any Olight, the lights here are better, brighter, and less expensive.
Tiene demasiado poder para el tamaño que tiene! Ademas de brillar intensamente tiene un costo accesible.
Muy bonito el diseño, solo me arrepiento de no haber pedido que fuera magnetica. :(
10/10 my favorite light I've ever used. I've got two of em, one a trusty work horse at my mechanic job and the other stays in my car for general use. Will light up a few acres or dim as low as you could possibly need for delicate tasks. Small enough to pocket or fit in cramped spaces, but seems mostly indestructible. I recommend the stainless bezel, that seems to be the only real weak point on the thing and I have yet to hurt the SS bezel even on my work light. I even ran it over once, didn't skip a beat.
Be careful of the heat this thing puts out on high/turbo, probably unscrew the tail cap if you toss it in a bag.
I love this light, I don't know how anyone could be disappointed by it.
What to say about the D4V2 that hasn't been said before? I have recently made my 3rd purchase of this little hot rod and I'm just blown away. First of all, the ability to customise your flashlight with an LED from the huge variety that Hank has is a great plus. Customisability also extends to body colour, optics, tail cap, bezel, and switch.
Have a question or a request for an option that's not available in the menu? Not a problem! Just shoot Mr. Wang an email and chances are he'll get it done for you. He's super accommodating and communicating with him in regards to orders and requests is a breeze.
Now, the light itself has a practical yet aesthetically pleasing design that has acquired it quite the celebrity status among us flashlight enthusiasts. The knurling provides excellent grip and the small size allows it to work perfectly as an EDC light. The fact that it's powered by a 18650 cell makes it a powerhouse of a torch with that size. When I say powerhouse, I mean it. Don't let the small size fool you, as this punches above its weight and does that well.
It works for the average user and the experienced one as well when it comes to UI. It takes a bit to familiarise yourself with the interface, but even going in blind is not an issue either, so don't let that discourage you from giving the D4V2 a shot. Because this WILL become one of your favourite lights.
Huge props and thanks to Hank for his incredible craftsmanship and top-tier customer service.
Very nice fit and finish. Excellent crisp action on the switch and I like the raised bezel around it that protects against accidentally turning it on. Magnetic tail cap is nice and strong and the SS bezel adds a touch of class. Addition of Aux led's is fun and handy - particularly the red for Astronomy use. Mine is the 3500k - lovely warm tint but not too rosy. Compact, high quality light with heaps of output and features at a bargain price. What's not to like?
the Aux LEDs are so mesmerising and fun, you'll find yourself acting like a child! The Anduril UI is the deepest and most feature-rich out there, the build quality and form factor is superb, the output is amazing and so is the customisability and appearance. Do keep in mind that is heats up very fast on turbo though.
this battery works amazing and is super bright, i love all the settings but the only bad thing is that it does not come with a battery.
If you have any thoughts about possibly getting this flashlight, just do it. Worth EVERY PENNY. Best flashlight you will ever carry.
It can get super bright.... for about 5-10 seconds and then it starts dimming due to temperature throttling. This package is not meant for this kind of light output and I feel like it's just something to allow higher marketing numbers without any real practical application. I wanted a small bright SUSTAINED light and this will not provide that. It also gets so hot it feels like it will burn you, who wants to pickup a flashlight they just used and feel like they are about to get burned? If this had a graph of the light output over time I would not have bought it knowing what I know now.
This is the light that you buy to see if you want to start your way down the rabbit hole of flashlight addiction.
While there are many, many variants, all of them are excellent, so you don't need to be paralyzed with the options. All of the options are fun, and odds are good that this will not be your only D4V2, anyway.
The Anduril operating system takes a moment to learn but is a lot of fun. The aux lights are the show-stealer here, though, and here's how they work: the main lights (4 of them) are white (various color temperatures, etc., but "white). When the flashlight is on, that's what makes it bright. But when the flashlight is off, the aux lights are on. They can be set to a given color, to rotating through the colors, to indicating the remaining battery, to really dim or less dim or alternating, or to off. On the non-base models, there is also a light on the switch that is set to the intensity of the aux lights (off, low, less low) but is one color, set by the color of the silicone button over it.
Note that you will need to buy an 18650 battery (Samsung 30Q flat top is a good choice) and a charger for that battery.
You will not regret this purchase.
My order- D4V2, Sand Color, SST20 4000k Emitter, +SS bezel.
I gave in to the peer pressure, and bought a D4V2.
I used expedited shipping. I placed my order on Dec 21, It shipped on Dec 28, and it arrived today, on Dec 31. (In California, USA)
Off the bat, the light is a lot smaller than it seems in pictures, or maybe I just have big hands. Either way, It will make a good EDC, as I was worried that it might be too big.
I accidentally selected the option to buy a pocket clip upon ordering, but I emailed Hank a few days later, before it had shipped, and asked him to remove the pocket clip from my order, and add the SS bezel, which I had originally intended to order. He got back to me quickly, and added the bezel to the order. 5 stars. He didn't even charge me the 50 cents extra. When the light arrived, it had BOTH the bezel and the clip. Awesome customer service, I can see why he's known for it.
The Aux LEDs are very pretty
I got the SST20 4k Emitters, and they don't seem to be green at all, far less than my Astrolux MF01s, which also has the SST20s (but in 5k). 10/10
The SS bezel adds a very premium feel, and I'm glad I went with it.
As others have complained, there is an imperfection around the edge of the Carclo optic, but as others have noticed, it doesn't effect the beam at all, so it's just aesthetic. I have decided not to let it bother me.
The light heats up fast on Turbo.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and I look forward to using it tonight.
Just got mine in a beautiful anodized blue and I am astonished by the features and finish you get. I already own flashlights from Olight and Nightcore and the D4V2 knocks them into a ditch. FOR LESS MONEY.
Super compact , very bright and good combination of flood and throw, lovely colored auxiliary lights, anduril user interface is great. Excellent build quality and attention to detail. Hank knows how to build some amazing flashlights. You will not reget this one.
Every Flashlight from Emisar is just amazing. Good craftmanship, very high power and nice UI and very reliable.
Took over a month to get here, and it doesn't even come with a battery, even when you order it with a battery charger. So now I have to go find the correct battery. Kind if shady. Shipped from China to California, repackaged and then shipped to me.
Ordered it after enjoying the bigger brother D4SV2. Also went for the Nichia 5000k. It is everithing I expected. Good ergonomic especially with the raised button guard. Did not ordered the magnet as it is very powerful, and being a small pocket light it might interfere with other itmes residing nearby (phone, cards). the colour lights look more vivid then on the D4Sv2. Probably b/c of the lens. Interface is great. however, more important is the build quality. 10/10.
Is it worth the hype?
Have been EDC-ing this light since November, 2019. I do not baby my gear whatsoever, my D4V2 has been through countless drops onto concrete, gravel, wood floor and compacted soil - and continues to work without a hitch.
Mine is in SST20 4000K, beautiful light. I was a light tint agnostic before, but high CRI is really starting to grow on me. You can go for other LED options for a little more power, but this is already an astounding amount of light coming out of such a small package. I grew up when Maglites were at the peak of their popularity, and the amount of advancement that flashlight technology has gone through boggles the mind.
Anduril. What can I say that hasn't already been said. Back in my day the button clicked to turn on, and off. Now we've got firmware flashing on your flashlight. Takes a tiny bit of learning to get into it, but now I'm comfortable with it I can't imagine using any other UI in a light.
As for the AUX LED's, I think they're fun, but to be honest I don't use them, apart from playing with it from time to time. I find them to be distracting to be honest, but most forumers are reporting that the battery drain is negligible.
I got the tail-magnet option, extra floody optic, and 18350 tube add-on options.
- The 18350 tube makes the light look comically small without sacrificing any power. Useful for when you need/want to go extra lightweight on your EDC kit.
- Tail magnet is a must have for me. Increases your options for mounting when tailstanding (or mouth-holding) isn't conducive or available.
- Extra floody optic: I got it just because I wanted to see the difference. It smooths out the beam pattern a bit, but other than that there's not much difference (for my purposes) to the standard optic.
So in conclusion, is it worth all the hype?
Absolutely - and then some.
* Awesome UI
* Good build quality
* Compact size, but with
* Serious flood power in a good selection of LED options.
The only thing I find it's lacking is a nice OEM clip option for the 18350 tube. Also, for the included clip, would prefer it to be deep. DEEP, deep carry :)
I have ordered the D4V2 end of October 2019. The parcel took just over two weeks to arrive and the packaging was very good.
It is a standard 18650 version, colored dark grey with the extra clip, the SST20 4000K emitter and the raised ring.
The light itself is just like in the pictures on this site: very, very nice. Some may say the SST20 might be a bit yellow, but I like the CRI of it a lot and its warmth. For a pure neutral white, you probably should get the XP-L.
The anduril firmware options are just too good, I love all the options and the low light is just perfect. For a night light the high setting of the AUX is also perfect.
The clip is pretty sturdy, keeping the light clipped to your pocket all day long.
Overall a definite must-buy and I can absolutely recommend this.
i was new to this company, and always a fan of torches, my friend john, ie: johndragonman and his brother showed me the EMISAR d4v2 and i couldnt believehow beautyful they were! and how well made with these amazing differnet colours you can choose from! this thing was amazing and i had to purchase one! i got myself the same torch but in titanium with a copper middle (the switch area) with the magnet tailcap and a belt clip! now this is my day to day carry torch. and i take it everywhere!! i absolutely love this company and ill be buying more in the next day or so as iv my ere on another with the colour changing! i mean a torch that also does lightning?? Nice little flashlight with incredible power.
Huge amount of light available for such a small device. Auxilliary leds are a cool addition.
